Description -  Assistant Marketing Manager
American Express relies increasingly on development and deployment of new marketing assets and capabilities to increase value to Merchants and Cardmembers. These capabilities are developed centrally in the Global Network Marketing Team (GNMI) and include Registered Card and various associated APIs.

This position will work within the GNMI International Marketing and Insights Effectiveness Team to assist in the set up and management of these capabilities to support merchant objectives via marketing campaigns. The role will work across our international markets and will be primarily focused on JAPA.

Registered Card is a network marketing capability which matches eligible Cardmember spend against participating Merchant offers. When a targeted Cardmember meets the offer criteria, they automatically receive a statement credit, or receive a gift card / voucher for later use. This capability is currently in use in the majority of markets in JAPA.

Assistant Marketing Manager Key responsibilities will include:
- Assistant Marketing Manager Support Registered Card campaign set up and management across all JAPA markets, with a key focus on:
  • Campaign set up(Set up offer, merchant list, enrolment page, eligibility & trigger emails in system, liaise with campaign manager, test and publish campaign in system)
  • Campaign Monitoring and Reporting (Enrolment, Transaction, Fulfilment and Merchant spend)
  • Customer Service (work with campaign managers to resolve registration, transaction and fulfilment queries)
  • Assistant Marketing Manager tech Liaison (manage any issues as required)
  • Fulfilment (prepare fulfilment file)  Assistant Marketing Manager.
  • Market set up (facilitate the establishment of Card member-facing infrastructure for new markets to use Registered Card)
  • Assistant Marketing Manager enhancements (work with both the US based Central Team and JAPA marketing teams to facilitate the development and launch of Registered Card enhancements)
- Act as a SME on Registered Card and offer consultation and advice to local market teams.
- Across all capabilities, help establish best practices and identify areas for process improvements.
- Work with the US/Canada based business and technologies teams to help manage the BAU aspects of campaigns and capabilities. This involves working with GNMI, AET and third party technology suppliers.
- Assistant Marketing Manager support roll out of new capabilities and marketing solutions using Registered Card platform in international.

Qualifications -  Assistant Marketing Manager

Requirements / Competencies:
  •  Tertiary qualifications in marketing or a business discipline.
  •  Strong process or project management skills and excellent attention to detail.
  •  Strong organizational skills - able to manage multiple tasks concurrently
  •  Excellent relationship skills – able to work with internal and external partners.
  •  Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to translate and explain  technical concepts in a simple, easy to understand way.
  •  Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills – comfortable with large data sets
  •  Strong problem solving skills
  •  Ability to work in a regional environment across diverse markets
  •  3+ years experience in marketing strategy development or implementation in digital/online channels, project / campaign management and an interest in technology/systems
  •  American Express merchant business knowledge an advantage.
