As one of North America’s largest provider of non-destructive excavating services our client is currently looking for an energetic and dependable Contract Specialist based in Calgary.​ Reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Business Development the incumbent will be tasked with  managing and coordinating all Canadian client requests for contracts, MSA’s, RFP’s, tenders, quotes and prequalification’s.​

Responsibilities:
·         Manage and coordinate Canadian client requests for contracts, MSA’s, RFP’s, tenders, quotes and prequalification’s.​ Manage and coordinate rate sheet requests from each Badger operation and BD rep.​
·         Detailed review of agreements, terms and conditions and manage risk of contractual obligations.​ Determine risks and liabilities.​ Understand all aspects of the contracting process.​ Requires strong organizational skills, multitasking and meeting deadlines.​
·         Negotiate favorable contract terms with new and existing customers.​
·         Organize, manage, monitor and file all contracts/​MSA/​tenders/​rate sheets.​ Manage both an electronic and hard copy file system.​ Track expiry dates and proactively communicate with clients in advance to update paper work and renew.​
·         Develop relationships with procurement departments.​ Meet clients face to face where appropriate.​
·         Coordinate insurance and WCB certificates for customers and Area Managers.​
·         Monitor lost tenders and proactively engage business development in advance of renewal.​
·         Manage and publish a comprehensive list of all Canadian contracts and safety prequalifications.​
·         Evaluate and determine which companies provide significant opportunity for growth which do not have a contract or MSA in place.​ Help establish Badger as a qualified vendor with as many companies as possible.​
·         Communicate necessary contract information to required departments within Badger.​ Maximize the benefit of contacts and information obtained to improve business development activity in the field.​
·         Help map key clients to maximize our efficiency.​ Help Badger to understand organizational structures and purchasing processes.​ Obtain important information from purchasing to leverage additional opportunities in different areas – primarily safety and BD.​
·         Support and work with Business Development team – BD meetings and assist in the negotiation of contracts to establish an optimum mix of price and quality.​
·         Assist with on demand field quotes.​

Qualifications:
·         Previous experience with contracts, MSA’s, RFP’s etc.​ is mandatory.​
·         Excellent organizational and communication skills.​
·         Detail orientated.​
·         English, Communications or similar diploma or degree an asset.​
