Language Teacher

Job Summary
As a Language Teacher you are developing content that will go into the Mango Languages product. You are not a full-time employee, but an independent contractor. You can make up your own hours, and work from anywhere. You will have deadlines for content to be finished. You MUST complete an assessment of skills as the first step in the hiring process.

Languages Desired - Language Teacher
  • Spanish (Latin American Dialect)- 4 positions
  • Italian – 4 positions
  • Russian – 4 positions
  • English as a Second Language (must have taught English to Spanish native speakers) – # of positions TBD
  • Any other language teachers can still apply, we will hold on to your resume!
Job Responsibilities - Language Teacher
  • MUST successfully complete an assessment of skills as first step of hiring process
  • Develop and edit subtitles in provided movie segment (10 minute segments)
  • Correct time codes in movies
  • Develop course content based on movie scenes
  • Proof audio recording
  • Create/edit phonetics
  • Overall quality assurance on content and course
  • Do all job related items in Mango provided tools/software

  • Knowledge of desired language’s film industry (directors, actors etc)

What Experiences We Need From You:
  • Native Speaker of desired language
  • 2 years of teaching the desired language at the university level
  • A degree in the desired language, linguists or other applicable degrees or certifications
  • Understanding of difficult grammar concepts in desired language and ability to teach these to a speaker of English, eg., characters that cannot be directly translated, particles, etc
  • At LEAST 20 hrs/wk availability.
  • Must be able to start immediately
  • Have access to computer and internet
